An unprecedented installation within a secret garden.

The designers of studio 5∙5 have created a “manifesto house”
for MUJI inspired by Japanese architecture. This evolutive,
creative, frugal solution contemplates the importance
of serenity in the commotion of the city.
Each element of the modular structure –including biosourced
materials, rainwater recuperation system, recycled
textile insulation, and a white roof to reduce heat islands–
demonstrates a synergy of comfort, ingenuity,
and environmental responsibility.
Erected in the Pippa Bacca public garden,
itself committed to biodiversity, this installation
offers an opportunity to reconnect with the essential.
A leafy break away from the bustle of Milano Design Week!

MUJI

Since it was founded in the 80s, MUJI has upheld its values: to oppose overconsumption and promote a mindful approach to design. In the MUJI philosophy, design should not be a whim or even the pursuit of attraction, nor should it bend to the market’s artificial renewal of collections.

STUDIO 5.5

The studio 5∙5 co-founders, Claire Renard and Jean-Sébastien Blanc, share and stand up for their vision of responsible design, and indeed are today recognised as the pioneers of upcycling in France.
